The Authorization Request Form includes a few additional features when processing an Authorization Request with PrescribeIT®. To learn more about the new form fields, click on the boxes in the image below.

Processing a PrescribeIT® Authorization Request form

  1. Confirm that the prescriber’s name, location, patient and prescription information is correct; update any information as required.

  2. If there are multiple forms, use the arrows to switch between pages.

Note: There will be multiple forms when more than one prescriber is selected in the authorization request; each form has a different prescriber. You may send the Authorization Request to multiple prescribers or you can change the prescriber by clicking the folder icon . All prescriptions being sent to the same prescriber will be listed on a single form.

  3. Select the PrescribeIT® button on the bottom of the form.

The Authorization Request will be sent to the prescriber electronically and a message displays informing you that the request is processing.

If successful, a record of the Authorization Request is placed on the PrescribeIT® Message Manager Sent tab with a status of Waiting for a Response.

A record of the Authorization Request Form sent through PrescribeIT® can also be viewed in the patient’s History tab. Once the prescriber responds to the authorization request, it will appear in the PrescribeIT®To Do tab. See Processing Authorization Request Responses to learn more.
